Day 2
I think Virgil is getting more comfortable at the Animal House. While I was at work…I closed off the kitchen and main bedroom and let him wonder the hallway and living room. He seemed to like this quite a bit. When I came home today I opened the bedroom door and hear comes Virgil running full speed thru the door … little did he know, Tux was right there. We all froze….Virgil began making some clicking noise with his throat, and then Tux decided to join in. They never did attack each other or anything, just kind of stared and walked around sideways. Then Tux went under the bed and Virgil went to the entrance of his room ...where they proceeded to stare at each other. After a while, I decided to give them a break and blocked off the areas…Tux began slowly poking around and Virgil was shaking the kitchen door. He hates! Closed doors. I went back and opened it for them.
Since Virgil hasn’t eaten his food yet, I decided to open some tuna for dinner and gave a little to Tux. I showed Virgil the tuna and put a little bit in his bowl, where he decided to hiss and slap me…I was only trying to give him some gourmet food! Maybe it wasn’t the right brand?? Who knows...but it is still in his bowl waiting for him. Hopefully he’ll eat a little something tonight.
One thing to add, I found, Virgil doesn’t seem to like feather toys. I have a toy with a feather on a long stick…he got very ticked at me…and proceeded to hiss and groan at me for a while…AND when I was in the foyer he was determined to not let me pass…so off to the water bottle I went,…I filled it up and told him I have a weapon…I don’t think he trusts that I will use it. He will be in for a shock of a life time. Well, hopefully Day 3 will continue to get better.
